Almost Fine finds its story engine in the small negotiations that make a relationship feel real. A simple question — “Am I still your favourite person, even when I’m annoying?” — becomes a doorway into affection, insecurity, tone, and the private language two people build together.

The original was developed as an animated episodic format: emotionally compact scenes that can stand alone while gradually revealing the shape of a relationship. The pilot episode and two short teasers establish a world where nothing is dramatically wrong, yet every pause and reply carries weight.

The visual direction borrows the tactile warmth of stop-motion: hand-shaped characters, knitted textures, a lived-in miniature set, and restrained camera movement. Dialogue stays conversational and the performances deliberately understated, allowing glances, pauses, and awkward timing to do as much work as the words. The result is intimate animation designed around recognisable emotional detail rather than spectacle.
