Brief
Si Buta dari Gua Hantu is a legendary Indonesian action comic with a strong identity, iconic characters, and a distinctive world. However, as a static medium, traditional comics have limitations in conveying motion, atmosphere, and the intensity of action. The challenge of this project is to bring the comic to life through subtle movement and visual dynamism without crossing into full animation, so the essence of the comic format remains intact.
The AI Animated Comic Si Buta dari Gua Hantu is developed as an experimental project to explore how AI can expand the storytelling potential of comics. The goal is to create a more immersive reading experience through motion, while demonstrating how AI can significantly accelerate the production process without compromising the original visual style and narrative identity of the comic.
Approach
The creative approach focuses on bringing the comic's environment to life. Using AI, environmental elements such as fog, light, shadows, wind, and background movement are introduced subtly to enhance mood and atmosphere. Motion is treated as a supporting layer rather than the main focus — adding depth and presence to each panel while preserving the visual language and rhythm of the comic itself.
